Reebok Jet 100 Treadmill review: Running

The Reebok Jet 100 Treadmill is powered by an ample 2HP electric motor that runs of the mains and produces a top speed of *16 KPH. This doesn’t make it the fastest home running machine you can buy, but the pace is fast enough for the majority of casual and club runners. Elite athletes may want to consider other treadmills such as the Sportstech F37 (£649) which is capable of a 20KPH pace.

The Jet 100 Treadmill gives users 12 different levels of incline, which allow users to add intensity to workouts. The treadmill uses a combination of inclines and speeds to produce its 24 pre-set workout. Each workout is based on speed/interval or hill training, which is standard practice for treadmills.

The running surface is nice and wide too. At 120 x 43cm, it’s wider than a lot of its rivals at similar price points. The width of a running belt is key, if like me, you’re prone to the occasional misplaced step when training.

Underneath the running belt is Reebok’s latest treadmill invention. Air Motion Technology. Here Reebok uses air to cushion the impact of footsteps on the running surface. The aim is to create less stress on joints when running and it does this well.

The treadmill is suitable for users weighing up to 110kg (17.5 stone). This is above average for home running machines. Cheaper treadmills like the PremierFit T100 (£117) can be limited to user weights as low as 90kg (14.2 stone).

*16 KPH will give you the following race times. 5k 18.45; 10k 60mins; Half marathon 1.19.06; Marathon 2.38.11.

Reebok Jet 100 Treadmill review: Monitor and dashboard

This running machine has a clean and uncluttered dashboard that displays all the information you need. The monitor features five sets of LED lights that clearly show workout speed, time, distance, calories, incline and pulse.

Controlling the Jet 100 Treadmill is easy. On each handrail are mini wings that are reachable while running. With these, you can track your heart rate via palm monitors and adjust your speed/incline too. The dashboard features its own set of controls that are intuitive to use and are responsive to the touch.

Users will also enjoy the built-in tablet/smartphone holder, USB power and aux-in ports. Alongside this is a loudspeaker that lets runners listen to music or watch a video while training. Perfect if you want to keep your mind busy during a long run with Netflix/BBC iPlayer.

Reebok Jet 100 Treadmill review: Build quality and storage

The Jet 100 is packaged with all the tools you need to build and comes 90% assembled. Finishing off the final 10% is a straightforward task thanks to easy to follow instructions. It’s recommended that two people are present when building, as some parts are heavy.

When fully built, the treadmill measures in at H 155 x W 78 x L 171cm. Like all good home treadmills, it comes with built-in transportation wheels and can be folded to fit in a cupboard or to reduce the floor space it takes up. When folded the treadmill measures H 155 xx W 78 x L 114cm.

Reebok Jet 100 Treadmill review: Verdict
